Heritage Open Days
Great War Huts will be 'on parade' again, offering tours of the site, and hosting a special exhibition; ‘Stars of the Khaki Screen’, a collection of the actual uniforms worn by well known stars in many film, television and theatre productions.
Four original buildings have now been restored and rebuilt at Brook Farm Camp and regular Heritage Open Days visitors will see quite a difference this year.
In addition this year, as an added attraction, we will be hosting an exhibition entitled, ‘Stars of the Khaki Screen’; a collection of military uniforms supplied by Great War Huts sponsor, Khaki Devil, to many film, television and theatre productions.
Items on display will include uniforms worn by stars such as Mark Gatiss, Ewan McGregor, Asa Butterfield, Paul Bettany, Richard Griffiths and Dan Snow. The exhibition will feature productions such as Downton Abbey, Doctor Who, the 2014 Sainsbury’s Christmas Truce advert, and the recent feature film, ‘Journey’s End’.
Timed tours of the site will be available, which are free to attend, but must be pre-booked either via the website, or:
