About the event
Training For Trenches is a programme of events aimed at children aged 7 to 12!
Over an exciting two hours our young recruits will meet their training instructors who will put them through basic training, issue them with uniforms, then lead them into the trenches to find out how soldiers lived and worked below ground during the First World War. These sessions last approximately two hours and conclude with a well earned drink and biscuits back in our original First World War Recreation Hut!
Suitable for: Children aged 7–12 years
Duration: Approximately 2 hours
Parents and guardians: Very welcome to take part alongside their children.
Dogs: Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
Booking: Advance booking is essential.
What to wear: Please wear sensible footwear suitable for uneven ground. On warm days, we also recommend bringing a sunhat and applying sun cream before your visit.
