About the event
On 11 November 1918, the Armistice came into effect at 11am, bringing an end to more than four years of fighting on the Western Front. While it marked the cessation of hostilities, it was not the formal end of the Great War, which came with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919. Today, Armistice Day provides us an opportunity to remember those who served and especially those who gave their lives.
Join us at Great War Huts this Armistice Day for a commemorative service marking the 108th anniversary of the Armistice in the unique surroundings of our restored Great War buildings.
Refreshments will be served following the service, providing an opportunity to meet with others before departing. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Attendance is free, but advance booking is essential. As parking at the site is limited, reserving a place helps us manage visitor numbers and ensure everyone can be accommodated.
