GWH Site Tour

The GWH Site Tour is your opportunity to come and visit Brook Farm Camp and learn about the history of the Great War Huts project, its original First World War buildings, and new trench system.

The trenches have been built using the original 1916 trench building manuals as reference so the size, depth and materials are all accurate for the trenches built in France over a century ago. There are dugouts, latrines, observation points, firesteps and a Regimental Aid Post.

The Brook Farm Camp site is still a work in progress, so there is some rough ground to cover in order to reach the trenches. We would encourage visitors to wear appropriate footwear - especially if the weather is wet! Refreshments are available to purchase on the day. 

Although these tours are free, booking in advance is essential!
