About the event
In this month's Hutted Histories talk, Lyndsay Knight and Taff Gillingham give a brief history of Britain's focus of national Remembrance - The Cenotaph, looking at its origins and symbolism and an annual service that has little changed in over a century.
Taff Gillingham is a military historian and historical military advisor for film, television and theatre productions. He co-owns Khaki Devil, a company specialising in the hire of uniforms, equipment, weapons and historical advice and is co-director of the Great War Huts project. He has a background in film and television design and is a former trustee of The Suffolk Regiment Museum.
Lyndsay is a heritage professional with a background in galleries, museums, and art and design.
She has worked on the organisation of key national events for the Department for Culture, Media & Sport, including the First World War centenary, and the national service of Remembrance.
She currently works for Historic England, and is Chair of Norwich Printing Museum trustees.
A keen enthusiast of biscuits, Lyndsay spends her time illustrating, looking after her 3-legged tortoise and, of course, Project Manager at Great War Huts.
