About the event

With timber being one of the most vital munitions of the war, the manpower available was simply not sufficient to supply the country's minimum needs, so an appeal was made to women to help with home timber production.

Join WLA Living Historian Nicky Reynolds and discover more about the Land Army's special branch - the unsung heroines of the forest - the Lumberjills of the Women's Timber Corps.

Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start. Talks last approximately an hour, followed by the opportunity to ask the speaker a question!
