About the event

War comes home - Air Raids of the Great War

There were over 100 air raids during the Great War starting with the destruction of a cabbage patch in Dover in December 1914. This resulted in over 1,400 deaths on the ground. This talk looks at aspects of life during the raids and the stories of some of civilians killed.

Caroline Drew has had a lifelong interest in history, especially local history, which has ended up in having a second full time job! Caroline learned the art of archival research at the Record Office in Bury St Edmunds as part of her A-level studies.
